Emergency fire shelter available at CSU-Pueblo, toiletries accepted
Displaced individuals will be charged a $10 fee per night.
PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - June 27, 2012)
- Colorado State University-Pueblo is providing emergency
shelter for its employees and Colorado Springs residents who have
been evacuated from their homes. It will open its Greenhorn
Residence Hall beginning Thursday, June 28 at 7 a.m. until
Thursday, July 5 at 4 p.m.
There will be approximately 200 beds available. Those needing
housing assistance must have valid identification with either a
driver’s license or military ID. A $10 nightly fee will be
charged and linens will be available for an additional fee. Persons
needing such assistance should call the “CSU-Pueblo Emergency
Shelter Hotline” at 719-250-0646.
The university is not able to accept donations. Although the
University is unable to accept donations to pass on to the
individuals and families, the Office of Residence Life & the
Office of Conference Services are in need of toiletries/personal
items that will be placed in each of the rooms for individuals who
may not have packed toiletries:
NEEDED ITEMS
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Bath Soap Or Liquid Bath Soap
- Shampoo (including small hotel bottles)
- Conditioner
- Hand Lotion
- Deodorant (male and female)
- Small packets of Q-Tips
- Hand Sanitizer
- Box of Kleenex
If you would like to provide any of these items, you may drop them off at one of four locations: Student Recreation Center Front Desk, Career Center in the Library, Auxiliary Services Desk in OUC, and the Belmont Hall Front Desk.
Persons wanting to assist the fire victims with additional items can donate to The Edge business in Pueblo, or the Colorado Springs World Arena in collaboration with Care and Share.
