CSU-Pueblo Art & Lorraine Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium

Colorado State University-Pueblo hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony March 18. 2016 to celebrate the completion of the newly renovated Art & Lorraine Gonzales Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium and honor all those who had contributed to the project.

CSU-Pueblo President Dr. Lesley Di Mare, Director of Athletics Joe Folda, and Foundation President Todd Kelly spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony along with Art Gonzales, whose generous donations made the facility possible. CSU-Pueblo women's lacrosse captain Rachael Welzin (So., Farmington, Minn.) and Head Men's Soccer Coach Roy Stanley also shared some words at the event.

Following the short program, Art and Lorriane, President Di Mare, Folda and student-athletes from the men's and women's soccer team and men's lacrosse squad cut the ribbon to signify the official opening of the new facility.

On April 2, 2015, the University broke ground on an enhanced soccer/lacrosse facility. The ceremony concluded with the announcement of the naming of the facility for longtime University supporters Art and Lorraine Gonzales.

The $3 million renovation features five locker rooms (men's and women's soccer, men's and women's lacrosse, men's track and field), each with 44 lockers, offices, an athletic training room, public restrooms, a concession area, a ticket booth, a press box, and a lobby area. A new synthetic turf field was put in along with 550-seat grandstands.
