Come out to the Colorado State University-Pueblo men’s and women’s basketball game February 11, 2012, against the Adams State College Grizzlies where all area youth are invited to attend the upcoming scheduled Take A Kid to the Game day. Kids will have an opportunity to experience the college game-day atmosphere when CSU-Pueblo hosts the seventh annual Take a Kid to the Game® (TAKG) day celebration. Youth, ages 12 and younger, will receive a free general admission ticket to watch the ThunderWolves take on the Grizzlies at Massari Arena. The women’s game tip-off is 5:30 p.m., the men follow at 7:30 p.m.
CSU-Pueblo is hosting one of more than 700 games that will be played across the nation this season as part of the Take a Kid to the Game program. The project is a grass roots initiative that attracts the nation’s youth and encourages adults to take kids to area college basketball games.
In addition to the games that evening, a Kid’s Fun Zone including a coloring and poster station, prize giveaways, and an autograph session with each basketball team. A special appearance by Scooby Doo and Shaggy will occur during both games. Scooby Doo and Shaggy will also be available for photos.
“We are pleased to extend the invitation to the community as we invite adults to bring children to experience a collegiate athletic event,” said Joe Folda, athletic director at CSU-Pueblo. “It is our hopes that there will be a record turn out as more and more children are able to take advantage of this truly memorable experience and worth-while program. CSU-Pueblo is excited about the intense basketball action that you will have a chance to see!”
