Rohrer and Kahler named Pack Athletes of the Week presented by Mobile Record Shredders

PUEBLO, Colo. (December 7, 2016) - Colorado State University-Pueblo's Molly Rohrer (So., Greenwood Village, Colo.) and Nelson Kahler (Sr., Noosa Heads, Australia.) have been named Pack Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Mobile Record Shredders.

Rohrer continued her dominating defensive play into RMAC competition. She totaled eight blocks as the Pack women's basketball team swept Fort Lewis and Adams State to remain unbeaten in 2016-17. Rohrer also grabbed 5.5 rebounds per game and came up with a steal.  

In just 17 minutes against the Skyhawks, Rohrer swatted four shots. She also pulled down five rebounds and dished out four assists as the game was out of hand before half time. She scored 12 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field.

For an encore, Rohrer blocked four more shots against the Grizzlies. She added six rebounds and a steal as the Pack limited the Grizzlies to 45 points. Rohrer tallied 17 points with 7-of-12 shooting from the field and 3-of-3 from the line.

With 3.0 blocks per game, Rohrer averages a block per game more than anyone else in the RMAC.

On the men's side, Kahler totaled 33 points (16.5 ppg) in 35 minutes on the floor as the men's basketball team went 1-1 on the road to open conference play.

He shot 72.2 percent (13-for-18) from the field and the 6-foot-9 center knocked down a 3-pointer. He added three offensive rebounds and two assists. Kahler totaled three blocks, six rebounds and a steal.

In the win against Adams State, Kahler recorded 19 points, was 8-for-10 (80%) from the field, totaled three offensive rebounds and added an assist.

Both teams return to Massari Arena this week and open their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference home schedules. Saturday the Pack welcomes Westminster, the women tipoff at 5:30 p.m. and the men's game to follow.
