PUEBLO, Colo. (October 5, 2017) - Members of the Colorado State University-Pueblo community are joining together for an extraordinary day of giving back, Thursday, Oct. 5. The goal is simple: show LOVE of CSU-Pueblo, inspire others to come together, demonstrate pride for the University, and provide essential support to CSU-Pueblo students to help shape the University.
This is CSU-Pueblo's second annual give day and an ambitious goal of 200 donors in one day has been established.
The Athletic Department will seek to raise funds for "The Wolfies." The Wolfies is the name given to the end of the year student-athlete banquet. (Think ESPYS!) The Wolfies provides an opportunity for coaches and administration to recognize all of the student-athlete's achievements, while presenting specific award winners who were nominated and voted on by coaches and administration. Seniors from all sports, cheer and dance and athletic training are honored and given a senior gift, along with a lifetime pass to athletic events. Gifts to this fund will immensely help with the costs of the meal provided and senior gifts.
The goal of the Athletics Department is $5,000. The CSU-Pueblo Foundation has generously agreed to match the first $1,000 donated to the fund.
The Colorado State University-Pueblo Foundation will focus on various initiatives across campus through a crowdfunding effort as part of its second Day of Giving on October 5. CSU-Pueblo has a crowdfunding platform to help raise money for CSU-Pueblo students, academic programs and departments, athletic programs, and student organizations. The goal of the day is to have 200 individuals donate to CSU-Pueblo within a 24-hour time-frame. The CSU-Pueblo Foundation solicited interest for project fundraising from all University colleges and departments. Multiple cross-campus funds have been established seeking support for their campaigns. The crowdfunding website will be open to donors all day, in the hope that students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the University will show their love of CSU-Pueblo by supporting the highlighted fundraising initiatives.
As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado State University – Pueblo competes in 22 varsity sports in NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics.
