Anderson and Jones named Pack Athletes of the Week presented by Mobile Record Shredders

PUEBLO, Colo. (January 10, 2018) - Colorado State University-Pueblo's Tuileisu Anderson (Sr., Vancouver, Wash.) and JaCobi Jones (Sr., Omaha, Neb.) have been named Pack Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Mobile Record Shredders.

Anderson averaged 14.0 points per game and was a perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line to help guide the Pack to an undefeated home weekend. CSU-Pueblo dominated South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in a 71-45 win Friday and shut down Black Hills State University 58-47 Saturday.

Anderson scored 12 points Friday to move into fifth place all-time at CSU-Pueblo in career points, passing Mary Rehfeld (1,259 career points).  Anderson went 3-for-8 with two 3-pointers. She would make all four of her attempts from the free throw line.

Defensively, Anderson added four rebounds and a steal. She also handed out three assists in the win over the Hardrockers.

Saturday, Anderson moved up another leaderboard at CSU-Pueblo.  With another two 3-pointers, Anderson vaulted Beth Thiebault  into second place all-time at CSU-Pueblo with 177 career 3-pointers. Anderson scored 16 points in the win over the Yellow Jackets. She also knocked down all 10 of her shots from the charity stripe and hauled in five rebounds.

Anderson ranks fifth in the RMAC with 1.9 steals per game.  She averages 10.9 points per game this season.

On the men's side, Jones, ranked No. 2 nationally at 165, finished 5-0 at the NWCA National Duals to help guide the No. 7 ThunderWolves to eighth place in a tournament that featured nine of the top 10 teams in the nation.

All five victories came by decision, which included defeating No. 4 Christian Smith of Cal-Baptics by the score of 3-2. His other wins on his 3-0 first day came by 6-3 and 4-2 decisions. On day two, Jones posted victories of 6-3 and 9-4.

The Pack women's basketball team heads north up the I-25 corridor for games at MSU Denver Friday and UCCS Saturday. The wrestling team goes to Omaha, Neb. this week and battles San Francisco State, Fort Hays State, and Maryville.
