Anthony Sandstrom is entering his sixth year as assistant athletic director/media relations at CSU-Pueblo.

Sandstrom manages the department's media relations practices, and is the webmaster of the CSU-Pueblo athletics web site, www.GoThunderWolves.com.

Sandstrom, a 2003 graduate of Colorado State University-Pueblo, had served as the sports editor and lead graphic designer at the Fountain Valley News, a weekly newspaper located in Fountain, Colo. He had served in that position since 2004. Prior to his work at the Fountain Valley News, Sandstrom was a sports reporter at the La Junta Tribune-Democrat in La Junta, Colo.

Sandstrom was the recipient of numerous awards, including a 2008 Southern Colorado Press Club "Woolly Award for Media Excellence" for best sports feature, and a 2006 Colorado Press Association award for best feature story. In 2009, he was named the Colorado State University-Pueblo Outstanding Professional Staff Member of the Year.

In 2012, he was named the J.W. Campbell/Con Marshall Award recepient as the top Sports Information Director in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

A Pueblo native and a 1997 graduate of Pueblo Centennial High School, Sandstrom graduated from CSU-Pueblo with a Bachelor's of Arts in Mass Communications with a journalism emphasis, as well as a Bachelor's of Arts in English.

Sandstrom and his wife, Sarah, are the parents of one child, Hunter. They currently reside in Pueblo West, Colo.
