Romero voted Athlete of the Week for Mar. 20, 2008

CSU-Pueblo softball player Kari Romero is supposed to only be a slap-hitter.  Well, she's supposed to anyway.

Last weekend vs. Metro State, she was a key RBI threat as well as a thorn in the Roadrunners' sides as a run scorer.

Romero put up a career-high 5 RBIs against Metro State Mar. 15, then followed it up by scoring the winning run in a 9-8 win over the Roadrunners Sunday.  She extended her hitting streak to six games, whipped out two multi-hit games, and improved her team-best batting average to .384, one of the top marks in the RMAC.

The result: Romero has been picked as the GoThunderWolves.com Athlete of the Week by the site's visitors.  Congratulations, Kari!

A NEW ATHLETE OF THE WEEK POLL WILL BE POSTED EVERY MONDAY THROUGH THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!  TO VOTE, VISIT THE FRONT PAGE OF THE THUNDERWOLVES WEBSITE AT http://www.gothunderwolves.com/.
