Fobes voted Athlete of the Week for Apr. 3, 2008
Sometimes, when mired in the midst of a losing streak, it takes fortitude to keep producing despite the odds against you and your team.
Or, in the case of Pack designated hitter Jason Fobes, you just keep doing what you always do - just hit the ball.
Fobes, a startlingly consistent hitter, has kept his batting average at or around .400 for nearly every day of his three-year career at CSU-Pueblo. The junior from Longmont seems to always get a bat on the ball, as evidenced by his .429 average in a series against Metro State last weekend.
As Pack coach Stan Sanchez says about Fobes: "All he does is hit the ball."
It is for that consistency that the visitors to GoThunderWolves.com saw it fit to vote Fobes the CSU-Pueblo Athlete of the Week for April 3, 2008.
A NEW ATHLETE OF THE WEEK POLL WILL BE POSTED EVERY MONDAY THROUGH THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR! TO VOTE, VISIT THE FRONT PAGE OF THE THUNDERWOLVES WEBSITE AT http://www.gothunderwolves.com/.
