Sixth Annual Loaf N' Jug Youth Shootout is Feb. 9

Registrations are now being accepted for the Sixth Annual Loaf N' Jug Youth Shootout, which will take place Feb. 9 starting at 6:30 p.m. at CSU-Pueblo's Massari Arena

The Youth Shootout is open to boys and girls in the third, fourth and fifth grades.  Participants have 45 seconds to score as many points as possible from designated spots on the floor.  The top four scorers from each grade and gender during the preliminary round (Feb. 9) will advance to the finals.

There is no cost to participate in the Loaf N' Jug Youth Basketball Shootout.

The mission of the Shootout is to encourage boys and girls in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades to strive for excellence in academics through athletics.

A series of basketball assemblies, hosted at various elementary schools, will be conducted by the CSU-Pueblo men's and women's basketball programs, including demonstrations of how to take athletics skills and transfer them into the classroom for better academic performance.

The Shootout will culminate with a free basketball competition where the winners in each category will win certificates, basketballs, Loaf ‘N Jug Snack Packs, and CSU-Pueblo basketball T-Shirts.  Each participant will receive an official Loaf ‘N Jug Youth Shootout T-shirt and a free ticket to the Shootout Finals Night at the CSU-Pueblo basketball game on Feb. 13.
