PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 14, 2013) – You may be seeing “pink” this week on campus. That’s because it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and CSU-Pueblo Athletics has several events planned that will raise funds locally for cancer awareness, benefitting the St. Mary-Corwin Breast Center of Excellence.
The Pack's 'Pink Week' will kick off Friday, Oct. 18 with the fourth annual “Kickin’ Cancer” soccer double header. The men will face Fort Lewis at 4:30 p.m. followed by the women against New Mexico Highlands at 7 p.m. Fans can pick up their Pink CSU-Pueblo shirts in the CSU-Pueblo Bookstore, and all fans who attend the game wearing pink will be admitted for just $3.
Saturday at 6 p.m., the nationally-ranked undefeated ThunderWolves football team will host Colorado School of Mines in the fifth annual 'Pink Out' game. The game will feature sales of the “Pink Out” T-shirts for just $15 each, five dollars of each sale being donated to the Breast Center of Excellence. Additionally, all youth football players wearing the jersey of their team will be admitted free and be invited onto the field to form a tunnel for the ThunderWolves prior to the game.
Pink Week will wrap up on Thursday, October 24 with the seventh annual "Block Out Breast Cancer" volleyball game vs. Chadron State at 7 p.m. Fans wearing pink will be admitted for just $3.
“Pink Out” shirts will also be on sale this week at the CSU-Pueblo Bookstore.
