Metro State hands Pack loss

Metro State 17, CSU-Pueblo 9
DENVER - The Colorado State University-Pueblo baseball team lost its eighth consecutive game Friday 17-9 to Metro State College at Aurauria Field.
The ThunderWolves took a 3-3 tie into the second inning before giving up four runs to fall behind for good. From there, CSU-Pueblo couldn't stop the bleeding as Metro scored in each of the remaining innings.
CSU-Pueblo dropped to 13-16 overall and 5-12 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Metro, the Mountain Division leader, improved to 24-5 and 16-1.
Thomas Cordova was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs, and Rutger Bovard and Jason Fobes had three hits apiece to lead the Pack. Johnny Zepeda also hit a home run.
Metro's Jake Palmer went 4-for-5 and Brennan Brown was 3-for-3.
CSU-Pueblo had 13 hits to 12 for Metro, but was nearly doubled-up on the scoreboard due to four errors and a combined 13 bases on balls by a committee of four pitchers.
