Pack's Bovard earns RMAC Player of the Week honor



COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresh off of a weekend that saw him hit over .500 and knock in 15 runs, Pack junior centerfielder Rutger Bovard has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the RMAC announced Tuesday.

Bovard collected 14 hits on 27 at-bats (.519) in six games last week againstMetro State and  Colorado Mines. He posted five hits in a double header against Metro State, and all four his runs batted in were in game two. At Colorado Mines, Bovard went 9-for-20 in the four game series. In game four, he went 4-for-7 with seven runs batted in, posting two home runs, one of which was a grand slam, and four runs scored. Bovard registered three doubles, two home runs and a triple on the week. He drove in 15 runs and crossed home plate eight times as the Thunderwolves went 4-2.

The honor marks the first time this season a ThunderWolf player has been honored as the RMAC Player of the Week.  Two times this season, ThunderWolves have been recognized as the RMAC Pitcher of the Week.  This also marks the first time that Bovard has been recognized by the RMAC as its player of the week.
