PUEBLO, Colo. - Pitcher Mario Mattivi (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) and outfielder Jason Fobes (Sr., Longmont, Colo.) were both named Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Central region first team selections, Daktronics announced Wednesday.  Utility player Matt Wismann (Sr., Palo Alto, Calif.) was also named to the team, as a second-team selection.

Mattivi, the Pack's top starter during the 2009 season, has posted a region-best nine wins this season, and is boasting the one of the lowest ERAs among starters in the region with a 4.61 mark.  Last week, Mattivi was named a first-team selection to the all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference team.

Fobes, the Pack's leading hitter with a .486 average, boasts the top batting average in the region and third-highest mark in the nation.  Fobes is ranked in the top 10 nationally in doubles (24) and on-base percentage (.540).  Fobes was the runner-up for the region's player of the year honor behind Mesa State's Matt Bodenchuk.

Wismann, a .408 hitter this season for the Pack, has smashed 10 home runs and has a slugging percentage of .768, which places him in the top 20 nationally.

The Daktronics All-Central Region team was voted upon by sports information directors throughout the Central Region.  Each of the 15 first-team all-region selections will now be listed on the Daktronics Division II Baseball All-American ballot, with the announcement of those All-American teams expected Friday, May 22.
