Baseball sweeps Best-of-Decade polls
The visitors to GoThunderWolves.com have spoken, and resoundingly highlighted the exploits of the CSU-Pueblo baseball team as CSU-Pueblo's best of the decade.
Visitors to GoThunderWolves.com voted in three "CSU-Pueblo Best of the Decade" polls - Athlete of the Decade, Moment of the Decade and Team of the Decade.
Results of the poll are not scientific and merely reflect the votes of GoThunderWolves.com visitors.
RMAC Hall of Famer Sam Christensen was named the Athlete of the Decade after a career which including two RMAC Player of the Year awards. He was a 2001 All-American and graduated as one of the top hitters in NCAA Division II history, boasting a .462 career average. He helped the ThunderWolves to two regional appearances in his time at CSU-Pueblo.
The Moment of the Decade also went to the baseball team, which was ranked as high as second in the nation during the 44-10-1 2004 season. That year, the ThunderWolves won the RMAC and hosted the NCAA Division II West Regionals. The 44 wins set a school record in victories.
The Team of the Decade was also the 2004 squad.
