Related: Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Division II Preseason Poll (Dec. 21, 2009)

The CSU-Pueblo baseball program was greeted with wonderful holiday news, as the squad was ranked in the nation's top 40 by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

CSU-Pueblo, which finished 2009 with a 41-22 record, winning the RMAC Championship and the finishing third in the Central Region, will welcome many members of their 2009 team back for 2010.  CSU-Pueblo will return four starters and one of its top pitchers from a year ago, Dillon Meaney (Sr., Westminster, Colo.), who notched two postseason wins for the Pack.

CSU-Pueblo joins RMAC foe and defending Central Region champion, Mesa State, in the poll.  The Mavericks were ranked fifth.  New Mexico Highlands came in just outside the top 40, ranked 41st in the poll.
