COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - CSU-Pueblo swept the RMAC's Player of the
Week honors this week, as Joaquin Montano (Jr., Pueblo,
Colo.) earned Pitcher of the Week honors while
Mark Sayas (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) nabbed
Player of the Week honors.
Montano helped CSU-Pueblo secure a three-game sweep of Nebraska-Kearney last weekend, striking out seven batters and allowing just two hits in six innings pitched, earning his third win of the season in a 4-0 victory over the Lopers Saturday.
Sayas went 8-for-12 on the weekend for the ThunderWolves, falling a home run short of the cycle and scoring four runs in the Pack's 10-4 win over the Lopers Saturday. He notched three RBI, five runs scored, and three hits in each of the first two games of the series.
The RMAC honors are the first Player of the Week honors in careers of both Sayas and Montano. They are also the first ThunderWolves to earn the Player of the Week honor this season.
