PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - May 19, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo catcher Kyle Wager (Sr., Globe, Ariz.) added another honor to his mantel Thursday, being named a second-team all-region selection by Daktronics.
Wager, who led the ThunderWolves with a .344 batting average and 10 home runs, played in 47 of the Pack's 53 games this season. A first-team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection, he was one of the conference's strongest players behind the dish, throwing out nearly 40 percent of would-be base-stealers throughout the season.
The composition of the All-Region squads were two teams (1st and 2nd) comprised of 13 persons based on position breakdown (1 C, 1 1B, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 SS, 3 OF, 1 DP, 1 UT, 3 P). The regional Player and Pitcher of the Year (separate ballots) were also selected by the sports information directors of each school in the region.
