PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - May 23, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo catcher Kyle Wager (Sr., Globe, Ariz.) earned his second first-team all-region honor of the season, as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) handed out all-region honors last weekend.
Wager, who was previously named first-team all-region by the American Baseball Coaches' Assocation and second-team by Daktronics, is the first ThunderWolf since 2009 All-American Jason Fobes to be named first-team all-region by two different organizations.
By virtue of being named first-team all-region, Wager is now eligible for All-American honors.
Wager, who led the ThunderWolves with a .344 batting average and 10 home runs, played in 47 of the Pack's 53 games this season. A first-team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection, he was one of the conference's strongest players behind the dish, throwing out nearly 40 percent of would-be base-stealers throughout the season.
