Vaughn earns NFFCC Player of the Week honor

Fresh off of a 4-1/2-sack performance against Oklahoma Panhandle State Saturday, CSU-Pueblo junior Chase Vaughn was recognized by the National Football Fountain, Colorado Chapter, as the state's college football player of the week, it was announced Tuesday.

Vaughn, the Pack's starting defensive end, ravaged the Aggie offense Saturday, logging 6-1/2 tackles and two passes defended on batted balls.  His 4-1/2 sacks helped account for 24 yards of lost yardage by the Aggies.

Vaughn becomes the second ThunderWolf to earn an individual honor, with teammate Markus Turner having been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference special teams player of the week on Monday.

The NFFCC includes all Colorado collegiate football programs, regardless of classification.  The NFFCC consists of RMAC teams Colorado State-Pueblo, Adams State, Mesa State, Fort Lewis, Western State, and Colorado School of Mines, Football Championship Subdivision school, Northern Colorado, and Football Bowl Subdivision schools, Air Force, Colorado, and Colorado State.
