Meisner headlines Pack's academic all-RMAC selections

Meisner one of four first-team Academic All-RMAC selections for T-Wolves.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 20, 2010) - Four ThunderWolves, headlined by junior linebacker Lee Meisner (Jr., Sterling, Colo.), a unanimous first-team selection, were first-team selections for the Academic All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the RMAC announced Wednesday.

Meisner, one of just two unanimous first-team selections in the conference (alongside RMAC Academic Player of the Year, Clay Garcia from Colorado Mines), is the RMAC's leading tackler in 2010 with 86 tackles through seven games.  He was joined by fellow first team selections J.T. Haddan (So., Craig, Colo.), Grant Jansen (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Jon Bailey (Jr., Fort Morgan, Colo.).

The foursome was one of 15 Pack players overall to be included on the Academic All-RMAC squad. 

Three Pack players earned second-team honors - tackle Drew Swartz (So., Gilbert, Ariz.), tight end Roger Pfannenschmid (So., Pueblo, Colo.) and guard Taylor Kelly (RFr., Ojai, Calif.)

The remaining eight ThunderWolves - Troy Graham (RSo., Chandler, Ariz.), Sebastian Trujillo (Sr., Durango, Colo.), Josh Salazar (Sr., Parker, Colo.), Nick Sabye (Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.), Ben Hicks (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.), Sutton Richmond (Sr., Lapeer, Mich.), Alex Rios (So., Centennial, Colo.) and Brandon Kliesen (RFr., Pueblo, Colo.) - were included on the RMAC Academic Honor Roll.

To qualify for Academic All-RMAC, student-athletes must have a grade point average of 3.30 or better, be a starter or reserve, and completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution. Their cumulative G.P.A. is what they had earned prior to the football season beginning. RMAC Sports Information Directors at schools that sponsor the sport of football selected first and second teams.
