Lewis named to AP's ‘Little All-America’ team

Lewis believed to be first CSU-Pueblo AP All-American since 1974.

PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com – Dec. 16, 2010) – CSU-Pueblo junior running back Jesse Lewis (Jr., Loveland, Colo.) was honored for a record-breaking 2010 season with a third-team selection to the Associated Press "Little All-America" team.

In 2010, Lewis smashed all CSU-Pueblo rushing records, rumbling for 1,391 yards and finishing third in the nation in rushing with 139.1 yards per game.  He also equaled a school record for most rushing touchdowns in a season with 14 and led the nation in yards per rush with 7.9 yards per carry.

He is the first ThunderWolf since 2008 to earn an All-American honor, and according to available records, is believed to be the first ThunderWolf to earn an "AP Little All-America" honor since 1974, when Glen Printers, an eventual NFL draftee to the San Diego Chargers, earned the honor.

The AP Little All-America team honors the top Division II, Division III, and NAIA football players, which amounts to about 1,000 member institutions nationwide.
