PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Apr. 21, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo's annual Red/White Game is slated for Saturday, April 23 at 2 p.m. at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.
For the first time this year, CSU-Pueblo players will be donning game jerseys and compete in a true scored scrimmage. The "Red" and "White" squads were selected by a draft conducted by CSU-Pueblo players. The game will use a running clock of four 15-minute quarters, with the final four minutes of each quarter counted off under normal gameday clock stoppage rules.
The game will immediately follow the annual "Stretch With the Wolves" at 1:30 p.m., where area youth and "ThunderPup Club" members are invited to participate in a pre-game stretch with ThunderWolves players on the field surface at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.
The game will also be broadcast live on Homer 1350-AM by the ThunderWolves' play-by-play voices, Jim Brooks and Joe Cervi, with on field interviews with players and coaches taking place during the game.
The Red/White Game will also serve as the ending of the CSU-Pueblo "Early Bird" season ticket promotion, where fans can lock in a price of $55 per seat for the ThunderWolves' six-game home schedule in 2011, five dollars off the regular price. A representative from the CSU-Pueblo Ticket Office will be on hand to handle season ticket requests as well as purchases at the "Early Bird" price.
