ThunderWolves open season receiving votes in national poll
Pack garners 31 votes, sits just outside national top 25.

DALLAS, Tex. (GoThunderWolves.com - Aug. 15, 2011) - For the first time in school history, CSU-Pueblo will open a season on the national radar in the NCAA Division II preseason rankings, "receiving votes" in the AFCA NCAA Division II Coaches' Poll garnering 31 votes in the preseason poll, released Monday.
The ThunderWolves, which ended the 2010 season receiving 19 votes on the poll, in essence being ranked 31st in the nation, were one of 56 teams to receive mention in the 2011 Preseason Poll. Despite receiving more votes in the preseason poll then it did in 2010's final poll, the Pack is ranked 33rd in the nation according to most votes received.
The ThunderWolves are one of four Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams mentioned in the poll.
The lone RMAC squad mentioned in the top 25 is Nebraska-Kearney, which ended 2010 ranked 23rd, begins ranked 16th in the nation.
Headlining the squads "receiving votes" is Colorado School of Mines with 87 votes, which were just a few votes away from opening in the top 25, as well. Also receiving votes was Chadron State, receiving one vote.
The ThunderWolves' season-opening opponent, West Texas A&M, opens at 19th in the preseason poll after finishing 8-4 in 2010.
