LIBERTY, Mo. (August 27, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo football team came in at No. 2 in the D2Football.com NCAA Division II Preseason Poll, released Tuesday. The ThunderWolves were behind the team they defeated in the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship, Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Minnesota State and the Pack (14-1 in 2014) were also No. 1 and No. 2, respectfully, in the American Football Coaches Association preseason poll.
Seniors Cameron McDondle (RB, Littleton, Colo.) and Zach Martinez (OT, Redlands, Calif.) earned D2Football.com Preseason All-American honors. McDondle earned first team honors and have been recognized by three other publications this preseason. Martinez was second team and has been given the preseason All-American nod by one other publication.
The ThunderWolves open the 2015 season hosting Central Washington University. The Pack welcome the Wildcats to the ThunderBowl Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. The game is set to be broadcasted by the American Sports Network and air live on Alititude2.
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foe, Colorado School of Mines, was ranked No. 17. CSU-Pueblo hosts the Orediggers Oct. 24 at 2 p.m.
