WACO, Texas (September 7, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo football team remained No. 2 in the week 1 American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II Poll, released Monday. The ThunderWolves used a 24-point second quarter to down Central Washington University 41-14 Saturday.
The Pack earned six first-place votes and 773 total points in the poll. Preseason No. 1 Minnesota State University, Mankato retained the top spot with 16 first-place votes and 790 points. MSU knocked off preseason No. 3 University of Minnesota Duluth last week, allowing the ThunderWolves' semifinal opponent, University of West Georgia to move into the No. 3 spot. UWG and No. 4 Northwest Missouri State each earned one first-place vote.
CSU-Pueblo heads to Canyon, Texas Sept. 12 to battle West Texas A&M University for a 4 p.m. MT start. The Pack owns a 3-1 record against the Buffaloes, which includes a 35-6 home victory last season. WT is coming off a 27-24 loss to then-No. 19 Azusa Pacific University Sept. 3.
