COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 19, 2015) – Following a breakout performance at Chadron State College Saturday, Colorado State University-Pueblo sophomore running back Bernard McDondle (Littleton, Colo.) was honored as Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, Monday in a release from the league office.
The recognition is the first of McDondle's career, while it marks the fifth time this season a member of the sixth-ranked ThunderWolves (6-1, 5-0 RMAC) football team has been recognized.
McDondle, the backup running back, rushed 11 times for 207 yards and three touchdowns in the 48-10 road victory at Chadron State. He averaged 18.8 yards per carry and now leads the nation in the category with 9.21 yards per carry. His three touchdown runs consisted of 66-, 10- and 67-yards.
McDondle helped the ThunderWolves rush for 452 yards against the Eagles, which is the most since 2008 and 29 yards shy of the program record set in 1977.
He owns 755 rushing yards this season to rank 28th nationally, while both his eight rushing touchdowns and 107.9 yards per game ranks 34th in NCAA Division II.

The ThunderWolves host No. 7 and undefeated Colorado School of Mines in an important RMAC showdown of last season's Co-RMAC Champions. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.

The contest will serve as the Pack's Pink Out game to raise awareness for breast cancer and funds for the St. Mary-Corwin Breast Center of Excellence. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and donate to the cause.
