PUEBLO, Colo. (July 25, 2016) – Seven former members of the Colorado State University-Pueblo football team are on rosters of the three major professional football leagues, while four ready for training camp of their respective National Football League teams this week.
Below is an update of the former Pack student-athletes that have extended their football careers past the collegiate ranks. Since 2008, eight former Pack players have earned a spot on an NFL Training Camp roster. in parenthesis is the duration the athlete was at CSU-Pueblo, followed by his current team.
Ryan Jensen (2009-12, Baltimore Ravens) – Played in 11 games (six starts) on the offensive line for the Ravens in 2015. He is in his fourth season with the organization and will begin training camp July 28.
Mike Pennel (2013, Green Bay Packers) – The defensive tackle played in 16 games (five starts) for the Packers last season. He totaled 25 tackles (nine solo) with a sack and forced fumble. He will enter his third season with the Green Bay in 2016 when the team starts training camp July 26.
Morgan Fox (2012-15, Los Angeles Rams) – The defensive end signed an undrafted free agent contract with Los Angeles in May and after working out with the team during the summer, he will enter his first NFL camp with the Rams July 26 when rookies report. Training camp practice begins July 30.
Kieren Duncan (2012-15, Chicago Bears) – After a successful Rookie Mini-Camp with the Bears in May, Duncan, a wide receiver, signed a contract with the organization and will report to his first NFL training camp July 27 and begin practice July 28.
C.J. Roberts (2010-14, Winnipeg Blue Bombers) - Roberts was added to the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers in late December as a member of the practice squad, but was released prior to the NFL Draft. The defensive back signed with the Canadian Football League's (CFL) Winnipeg Blue Bombers in July and recorded two tackles in his debut July 14. Through two games and a pair of starts, Roberts has five tackles and a fumble recovery.
Darius Allen (2011-14, BC Lions) – Allen signed as a free agent in February with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The defensive end has totaled two defensive tackles and two special teams tackles in the first four games of the season.
Paul Browning (2010-14, Orlando Predators) – Browning is spending the 2016 season with the Arena Football League's (AFL) Orlando Predators. Missing most of the season due to injury, Browning has totaled five receptions for 26 yards in four games. The team wraps the regular season July 30.
Season tickets for the CSU-Pueblo football's 2016 home season are on sale now. The price of season tickets start at $72, with discounts available for joining the CSU-Pueblo Pack Club. The renewal deadline for 2015 season ticket holders is Aug. 1.
The ThunderWolves open the season on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app when the Pack travel to Golden, Colorado for a 7 p.m. meeting with Colorado School of Mines.
