PUEBLO, Colo. (August 9, 2016) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo football team reports to campus Aug. 10 and will begin practice Aug. 11. The six-time defending Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Champions take the field for the first time in 2016 at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The ThunderWolves (12-2 in 2014) return 13 starters, which include seven on a defense that finished top 10 nationally in interceptions (24, T-3rd), scoring defense (15.8 ppg, 3rd) and rushing defense (94.6 ypg, 10th) last season. Five starters from the offense are back for 2016, which includes two offensive linemen and sophomore quarterback AJ Thompson (Denver, Colo.). Sophomore punter Tanner Cuda (Castle Pines, Colo.) is the lone returner from the special teams unit. 

The ThunderWolves were tabbed to finish first in the RMAC Preseason Poll Aug. 1 and eight Pack players were selected as Preseason All-RMAC. 

All the practices on the fall camp schedule are open to the public and the media. The Pack will conduct 12 practices before school begins Aug. 24. Practice dates and times are subject to change.

The ThunderWolves hit the road to begin the season, as the Pack travel to Golden, Colorado Sept. 1 for a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference showdown with Colorado School of Mines. The 7 p.m. kickoff at Marv Kay Stadium will be aired live on ESPN3/WatchESPN.

CSU-Pueblo will open the home season Sept. 10 versus West Texas A&M University. The RED OUT game is set for a 6 p.m. start.
