COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 10, 2016) - Colorado State University-Pueblo junior running back Bernard McDondle (Littleton, Colo.) earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors Monday, in an announcement from the league office.
McDondle gathers the first offensive conference award for the Pack this season, while it is the second time the team has been honored, as Emery Taylor (R-Fr., CB, Aurora, Colo.) was awarded defensive player of the week Sept. 19.
McDondle totaled 151 of his career-high 276 yards in the first half of a 56-12 road win at Adams State University Saturday, while three of his four rushing touchdowns also came in the first two quarters. He rushed 18 times to average 15.3 yards per carry. The junior's long rush was for 80 yards to the end zone at the tail end of the third quarter. His other three scores came from 43, 32 and 20 yards out.
The four touchdowns are the most by an RMAC rusher this season.
He has rushed for more than 100 yards in each of his four games played, while his 753 yards is No. 14 in NCAA Division II.
The ThunderWolves return home Oct. 15, where they are 2-0 on the season, to battle Fort Lewis College in the annual homecoming game. The RMAC contest is set to begin at 2 p.m. at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.
