Feenstra honored as 2016 RMAC Football Summit Award winner


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 17, 2016) - For the second consecutive season, Colorado State University-Pueblo junior offensive lineman Corbin Feenstra (Superior, Colo) has been selected as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Football Summit Award winner, which honors the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA on the championship football team.

Feenstra started all 11 games at center for the ThunderWolves, who finished 8-3 overall and 8-2 in conference play for a three-way share of the 2016 RMAC Championship. Earlier this season he was named CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-RMAC First Team. He was selected as a 2015 academic All-American, all-region and All-RMAC First Team member.

Feenstra owns a 3.99 GPA in business management and business administration.

2016 O-Line Bio: The Pack offensive line guided the team to 195.8 yards rushing per game, despite missing their top running back for more than half the season … Finished the regular season No. 14 in NCAA Division II in least tackles for loss allowed (4.36) … Quarterback Rex Dausin started nine games and threw at a 60.5 percentage … The Pack scored eight rushing touchdowns against New Mexico Highlands to tie program best since the 2008 restart and rank tied for third most in NCAA Division II this season … CSU-Pueblo rushed for 394 yards and totaled 645 yards against Adams State.

All GPAs are based on a straight grading scale to ensure consistency among institutions. Any tie is broken by the number of credits completed.
To be eligible, the student-athletes must be a sophomore of above, have participated in their sport for at least two years at their respective school. The student-athlete must also be an active member of the team, traveling and competing at the RMAC Championship.

As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado State University – Pueblo competes in 22 varsity sports in NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics.
