Rosenbrock gathers RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 8, 2018) - Colorado State University-Pueblo junior Kyle Rosenbrock (ILB, Brush, Colo.) has gathered Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors, announced by the league office Monday.

The ThunderWolves (5-1, 4-1 RMAC) defeated New Mexico Highlands University (2-4, 2-3 RMAC) Saturday by the score of 48-3. The win marked 100 for the program since the restart in 2008. The defense stood tall against a team averaging 35 points per game and forced four turnovers on a squad that had just six through five games. 

Rosenbrock was one of the defensive leaders, as he totaled 10 tackles (7 solo). He also recorded 2.5 tackles for loss (-6 yards) to tie a career-high. The junior also had a quarterback hurry. 

In all, the Pack collected 12.0 tackles for loss (-34 yards) and now rank No. 3 in NCAA Division II in team tackles for loss (10.2 TFL per game). Nationally, the CSU-Pueblo defense is second in turnovers gained (19), fourth in interceptions (11), seventh in team passing efficiency defense (91.5) and eighth in fumbles recovered (8).

CSU-Pueblo ranks No. 14 nationally in the latest American Football Coaches Association poll and will head to Grand Junction, Colorado Oct. 13 for a battle with Colorado Mesa University. The contest will air live on ESPN3 as it will be featured as the weekly NCAA Division II Showcase Game. Kickoff is set for 2:05 p.m.
