Cougars' accurate shooting cause fits for ThunderWolves
PUEBLO, Colo. - A Colorado Christian team on the rise once again
asserted its bid as the top team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference, running roughshod over the ThunderWolves in a lopsided
88-57 victory Thursday night.
The Cougars shot an absolutely stellar .653 from the field, sinking
twelve three pointers, while the ThunderWolves had trouble keeping
up, struggling on long-range shots and dealing with Christian team
that simply never slowed down.
The Cougars four of its players score in double digits, with two of
them besting 20 points. Rory Morgan sank five three pointers en
route to 21 points while preseason RMAC Player of the Year, Brian
Stamer, lead all scorers with 22 points from the post.
The Achille's heel for the Pack was it's poor showing from beyond
the arc, only hitting 3-for-20 from downtown, part of a .321 field
goal percentage the team turned in overall.
The loss was the Pack's fourth straight and its third in as many
games in conference matchups. The ThunderWolves haven't lost their
first three conference games since the 2001-02 team started 0-4.
