Al Kaly Classic to feature canned food drive
Fans who bring two canned food items will receive one dollar admission to Al Kaly Classic Nov. 21 & 22
PUEBLO, Colo. (Nov. 14, 2008) - The Colorado State University - Pueblo Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be holding a canned food drive at the upcoming basketball season openers at Massari Arena to benefit Care and Share Food Bank of Pueblo.
The drive will take place on Friday, November 21 and 22 during the Al Kaly Shriners' Basketball Classic at Massari Arena. The Classic begins Friday at 1 p.m. with the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls taking on the Cameron (Okla.) University Aggies, followed by the Western State Mountaineers against the University of Nebraska - Omaha Mavericks at 3 p.m. The ThunderWolves women tip-off at 5 p.m. against the Willamette (Ore.) University Bearcats and the men follow at 7 p.m. against the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes.
Saturday the Classic resumes at 1 p.m. with the NMHU Cowgirls facing Willamette, followed by the WSC Mountaineers against the KWU Coyotes at 3 p.m. The ThunderWolves women will take on Cameron at 5 p.m. and the men will follow at 7 p.m. against the UNO Mavericks.
Fans who bring two canned food items to either game will receive admission to the game for just one dollar. The goal of the drive is to collect 1,000 cans to donate to Care and Share.
