Pack basketball inks Eastern Wyoming's Rosenbaum
All-NJCAA Region IX selection is the first member of Pack's signing class.
PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - June 4, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo has announced its first 2012-13 signee, Eastern Wyoming College standout Matt Rosenbaum (Sidney, Neb./Eastern Wyoming College/Sidney HS).
Rosenbaum, an All-NJCAA Region IX selection at Eastern Wyoming, averaged 16.3 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore in 2012. The 6-foot-6 forward was a threat down low but also on the perimeter, sinking 44 three-pointers last season.
Before playing under Eastern Wyoming coach Casey Jones, Rosenbaum was a prep standout at Sidney High School in Sidney, Neb. He was named to the Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Game, reserved for the top 24 players in the state of Nebraska, and was a Panhandle Prep All-Star selection after averaging 19 points and 11 rebounds per game during his senior season at Sidney.
CSU-Pueblo head coach Ralph Turner said Rosenbaum was the ThunderWolves' top target during the recruiting season and will bring immediate leadership and versaility to the floor.
"We're excited to welcome Matt and his family to CSU-Pueblo," Turner said. "He's a strong inside and outside threat, is very physical, is a good student and has strong leadership qualities. He is a great example of the type of individual we want as a member of our program."
Rosenbaum will join the ThunderWolves as a junior in NCAA eligibility.
