James Miller is entering his third season as assistant coach at Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Miller is responsible for the recruiting of prospective student-athletes, organizing the team's conditioning and scouting, and assisting in scheduling, making travel plans and fundraising.

Miller came to CSU-Pueblo after interning in the Arizona State University men's basketball program in 2006, where he assisted the director of basketball operations in both camp and team direction.

Prior to that, Miller was a student assistant coach as Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Miller assisted in the recruitment of student-athletes by organizing mail-outs to prospective players. He also assisted in scheduling and film exchange, as well as scouting. He worked extensively with former CSU-Pueblo assistant Trent Fechter (then-Director of Basketball Operations for the Rams) to set up practices, aiding in drills and workouts and compiled statistics during practices and games.

Miller also has coaching experience from multiple coaching positions at Rocky Mountain High School.

Miller graduated with a degree in health promotion from Colorado State in 2005 and received his Master's from the University of Northern Colorado in 2007. He currently resides in Pueblo.
