James Miller is entering his third season
as assistant coach at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
Miller is responsible for the recruiting of
prospective student-athletes, organizing the team's conditioning
and scouting, and assisting in scheduling, making travel plans and
fundraising.
Miller came to CSU-Pueblo after interning in the
Arizona State University men's basketball program in 2006, where he
assisted the director of basketball operations in both camp and
team direction.
Prior to that, Miller was a student assistant
coach as Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Miller assisted
in the recruitment of student-athletes by organizing mail-outs to
prospective players. He also assisted in scheduling and film
exchange, as well as scouting. He worked extensively with former
CSU-Pueblo assistant Trent Fechter (then-Director of Basketball
Operations for the Rams) to set up practices, aiding in drills and
workouts and compiled statistics during practices and games.
Miller also has coaching experience from
multiple coaching positions at Rocky Mountain High School.
Miller graduated with a degree in health promotion from Colorado
State in 2005 and received his Master's from the University of
Northern Colorado in 2007. He currently resides in Pueblo.
