Troy Johnson is entering his second season as CSU-Pueblo's assistant men's basketball coach.

Johnson came to CSU-Pueblo from San Jose State University, where he was an assistant during the 2008-09 season.

Prior to his time at San Jose State, Johnson was the head coach at Merritt College in Oakland, Calif., coaching the T-Birds from 2006-08.  Before coming to Merritt, Johnson had stints as an assistant at Ohlone College (2005-06), City College of San Francisco (2001-05), and Western New Mexico (1999-01), where he played his collegiate ball.

Johnson played with Western New Mexico during his junior and senior seasons from 1997-99.  The Brooklyn, N.Y. native played junior college ball at Merritt College.
