Brock takes third at Mines/Regis Fall Invite

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Colorado State University - Pueblo senior, Casey Brock, finished in third place at the 2007 Colorado School of Mines/Regis University Fall Invite, held Monday and Tuesday at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood.

Brock shot +1 over three rounds of the tournament, leaving him just two strokes behind champion John Klingensmith of Colorado Christian, and one stroke behind Regis' Bobby Arranaga.

After starting the tournament with a -1 70 during the first round, Brock turned in a +2 73 in the second round before staying on par in his third round, shooting a 71 and climbing back into the running for the tournament title.

Brock headlined a team effort that saw the ThunderWolves golfers finish in fourth place, two strokes behind third place team, Regis, and 15 behind the tournament's team champion, Fort Lewis.

Finishing eight strokes behind Brock in seventh place was teammate David Duarte, who boasted a +3 following the second round, but fell off the pace with a +6 77 during the third round.

Rounding out the Thunderwolves' golfers were Derek Carleo (18th, +17), Ray Maruyama (22nd, +20), and Jeff Johnson (24th, +21).

The ThunderWolves men golfers will take tee it up again Saturday in their own backyard at the RMAC Invitational, being held at Desert Hawk Golf Course in Pueblo West on Sept. 17 and 18.
