CSU-Pueblo junior Brandon McCoy (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.), fresh off a near-win at the Grand Canyon ThunderBird Invitational, has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the RMAC announced Thursday.
McCoy turned in one of the most consistent golfers in the 100-golfer field at the Grand Canyon ThunderBird Invite Tuesday, finishing in second place with a stellar -9 207 over three rounds.
McCoy made a statement at the tourney, proving that his first round -4 68 was no fluke, playing consistently for all three rounds. He turned in a -3 69 in the second round and followed that up with a -2 70 in the final round.
McCoy's finish was the highest of any RMAC team at the tournament. The RMAC was represented by five teams at the tournament - Western New Mexico, UC-Colorado Springs, Fort Lewis, Nebraska-Kearney and CSU-Pueblo.
The ThunderWolves' next tournament will place on Apr. 13 at the UC-Colorado Springs Invite.
