Pack strong at Mustang Intercollegiate

CSU-Pueblo: 6th out of 10 teams

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Led by a great debut by the Pack's midseason newcomer, Bryan Kruse (So., Westminster, Colo.), CSU-Pueblo finished 6th out of 10 teams in a very competitive tournament at the Western New Mexico Mustang Intercollegiate Tuesday.

Kruse finished tied for 16th overall in the field of 53, shooting a +2 74 in the first round followed by an even-par 36 in the nine-hole second, putting him in 7th after one day of play.  But a +8 80 in the third round sank his tournament championship chances, but didn't damper a strong showing in his first tournament at CSU-Pueblo.

Kruse, a transfer from New Mexico Junior College, was joined by fellow NMJC transfer and mid-year addition, Sean Thomas (So., Arvada, Colo.), who was third on the ThunderWolves with a 24th place +14.

The Pack's second-best performer was Jimmy Moore (Sr., Lyons, Colo.), who bounced back from a lackluster 82 in the first round to post a +1 37 in the second round and a +2 74 in the third round.  He finished 23rd with a +13 showing.

CSU-Pueblo will look to build upon this showing in two weeks when it travels to Denver for the D.U. Intercollegiate April 3.
