Pack cruises to first tourney win since 2006
CSU-Pueblo, 1st out of three @ Mines Triangular
DENVER - CSU-Pueblo's men's golf team put up one of its strongest team performances in several years Sunday when it earned the win in the Mines Triangular in Denver.
Led by a first-place performance by Sean Thomas (So., Arvada, Colo.) with a +1 73 and a second-place showing by Bryan Kruse (So., Westminster, Colo.) with a +2 74, CSU-Pueblo cruised in the 18-hole triangular, finishing five strokes better than second place Colorado Mines.
The Mines Triangular was a replacement for the Denver Intercollegiate at the Bear Creek Golf Course in Denver. At the last minute, the tournament was cancelled due to poor course conditions, and three of the teams from the tournament, including CSU-Pueblo, combined to comprise the Mines Triangular.
CSU-Pueblo will return to Denver next week when it takes park in the Bob Writz Invitational at Fox Hollow.
