Former All-American Zaremba competing at Senior PGA Championship

Former CSU-Pueblo All-American and men's golf coach, Mike Zaremba, is competing today at the 2010 Senior PGA Championship, being held at the Colorado Golf Club in Denver.

Zaremba, currently the director of golf at the Desert Hawk Golf Course in Pueblo West, is competing with the likes of PGA greats Fred Couples, Paul Azinger, Hale Irwin and Fuzzy Zoeller, just to name a few.

Zaremba has been a professional since his graduation from the University of Southern Colorado in 1976, a year after being named an All-American in 1975.  He is a two-time Colorado PGA Player of the Year and one-time Colorado PGA Senior Player of the Year. This year, he will be competing in his third Senior PGA Championship (also competed in 2005 and 2006).  He was also a two-time entrant into the U.S. Senior Open.

From 1988 through 1995, Zaremba was the head coach of the CSU-Pueblo men's golf program, leading the team to one Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference title (1990) and three Colorado Athletic Conference championships (1993-95).  In 1994, Zaremba's team finished 14th at the NCAA Division II National Championships.
