Pack struggling to keep pace at Mines Invite
ThunderWolves in second by ten strokes with one round remaining.
WESTMINSTER, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 11, 2010) - Despite having two individuals in the top 10 and firmly holding on to second place in the six-team Colorado Mines Invitational, the Pack is 10 strokes off the pace of the host school with one round remaining.
CSU-Pueblo shot a team 298 in the second round, a five-stroke improvement from its first-round score, but has had trouble keeping pace behind Colorado Mines on its home course. The Orediggers shot a 298 and 293 in the first two rounds and are seemingly cruising to a team title.
Individually, two ThunderWolves were in the top 10 - Freshman Jonathan Park (Fr., Denver, Colo.) was +5 and in 5th place, with Westminster-native Sean Thomas (Jr., Westminster, Colo.) in 7th, one stroke behind Park.
The Colorado Mines Invitational will continue Tuesday morning.
