Novak makes run, but Pack team scores languish
AUSTIN, Tex. (GoThunderWolves.com - March 6, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo saw improvements from the second round to the third round by two of its golfers, including senior Chad Novak (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.), but it wasn't enough as the Pack would finish 16th out of 17 teams at the St. Edward's Inviational.
Novak cut eight strokes from his second-round output of 84, climbing to 16th place overall and pacing the ThunderWolves fivesome. Matt Porter (RFr., Castle Rock, Colo.) was second on the squad in his first collegiate tournament, finishing in 34th place with an 18-over-par 234.
As a team, however, CSU-Pueblo did fall down the standings again, shooting above 320 as a team for the second straight round and leaving it second to last in the team standings.
The ThunderWolves will attempt for a better outcome in three weeks when it travels to the Colorado School of Mines Bear Creek Invitational.
