Pack finish fourth at Bronco Invitational
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -(GoThunderWolves.com-April 2, 2012)- Two rounds in the books, poised to make some noise against nationally ranked teams, then spring hits. The third round of the Central Oklahoma Bronco Invitational has been halted due to rain and the CSU-Pueblo Men's Golf team found themselves taking home fourth place in this field of 17.
Battling a field filled with nationally ranked teams, the Pack worked themselves into fourth place, besting all but the host and #12 Central Oklahoma and #14 St. Edwards.
Scott Wyers (Sr., San Diego, Calif.) finished as the co-medalist with his 3-under par, total 141, for 36 holes. His opening round of 68, a 4-under-par performance, on this par 72 course, was tied for the lowest round shot during the tournament.
The ThunderWolves only other finisher in the top 25 was Ricco Tapia (Jr., Raton, N.M.). Tapia put together two steady rounds (77/76) to count out at 153 and tied at 25.
Matt Porter (RFr., Castle Rock, Colo.) made his rounds count with his steady play when he carded two 78's, 156, to finish tied for 39th out of 95 golfers.
The Pack will host its annual DQ Thunder Wolf Invitational starting Sunday April 8, 2012 on its home course, Walking Stick, starting at 8 a.m.
