Pack Men’s Golf faces first RMAC competition

PUEBLO, Colo. (September 18, 2016) – In their third tournament of the 2016-17 season, Colorado State University-Pueblo men's golf will compete in its first official Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition, when the Pack vies for its second win at the RMAC North Tournament Monday and Tuesday.

The ThunderWolves will tee off Monday morning for the first of their 54 holes at the Ravenna Country Club. This RMAC Tournament will be hosted by Colorado Christian University.
 
CSU-Pueblo enters the tournament with momentum. The Pack won the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational and placed eighth at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational last week. 

Additionally, Pack student-athletes have earned both of the RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week awards this season. Neil Tillman (Jr. Arvada, Colo.) received the first RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week Award after a shared victory at the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational.

Jake Ice (Sr., Tucson, Ariz.) reigns as the RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week after earning the honor for the first time in his career Thursday. Ice finished fourth at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational with a -3 (213). Ice also shared the win at the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational after a -4 (212). 

Through two tournaments at CSU-Pueblo, Ice has posted a combined -7. He has been under par in four of his six rounds.

A two-time All-RMAC selection, Jacob Allenback (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) will try to regain his all-conference form. Allenback carded a -3 at his last RMAC competition to finish second at the RMAC Championships.

GJ Kuhn (Sr., Ayr, Ontario, Canada) has ranked third on the Pack in both of his two tournaments this season. Austin Shanks (So.,Wichita, Kan.), Roy Carlsen (So., Arvada, Colo.) and Austin Burgess (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) round out the Pack's field.

The Course:

Ravenna Country Club has par set at 71. The course spans 7,263 yards. Playing from the black tees, the Pack golfers and the rest of the field will face a 143 slope with a 73.8 rating.
