LITTLETON, Colo. (September 19, 2016) – One day into their first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament of 2016-17, Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Golf stands seventh. Junior Neil Tillman (Arvada, Colo.) ranks fourth after 36 holes at the Ravenna Country Club with a +4 (146) to lead the Pack.
Tillman, the first RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week in 2016-17, carded a +3 (74) in his first round of golf Monday morning. He followed it up with a +1 (72). He stands two strokes back of second place in a tournament where only one golfer is below par after day one.
Freshman Austin Burgess (Colorado Springs, Colo.) sits just outside the top 10 in 13th place after a +9 (151). Burgess shot a +9 (80) in the morning. He found his rhythm in his second round of the day, shooting an even par in the afternoon session. Burgess' second round of the day, an even par 71, ranks as the fourth best round of the day.
Reigning RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week, Jake Ice (Sr., Tucson, Ariz.) wound up on the plus side for just the second and third time in his Pack career. Ice sits 28th with a +14 (156). He shot a +4 (75) in the morning and a +10 (81)later in the day.
The Pack will try to climb a few spots on day two when they play their final 18 holes at the Ravenna Country Club. Only seven strokes separate the Pack from fourth place.
