GOODYEAR, Ariz. (September 26, 2016) – One day into the WNMU Fall Intercollegiate, Colorado State University-Pueblo men's golf sits sixth in a 20 team field. ThunderWolves student-athletes completed all 36 holes before play was suspended due to darkness at the Estrella Golf Course.
Neil Tillman (Jr., Arvada, Colo.) wrapped up the first day of competition in a tie for ninth place. Tillman carded an even par 72 in his morning session. He finished +3 (75) for the afternoon. He sits eight strokes back of the lead entering day two as he eyes his third top five finish of the season.
Taylor Rodriguez (So., Pueblo, Colo.) returned to the Pack lineup with an impressive pair of rounds Monday. Rodriguez shot a + 1 (73) in his morning round. He completed play with +3 (75) in the afternoon. Rodriguez will begin day two in 13th place.
Senior Jacob Allenback (Pueblo, Colo.) ranks third among Pack golfers and 43rd overall. Allenback recorded a +6 (78) in his first round. He bounced back with a +3 (75) in his second round of the day.
Freshman Austin Burgess (Colorado Springs, Colo.) matched Allenback with a combined +9 (153) on day one. Burgess carded a +7 (79) in round one and responded with a +2 (74) in his second 18 holes.
Jake Ice (Sr., Tucson, Ariz.) shot a +3 (75) in Monday's morning session. Ice stumbled a little bit in his afternoon round with a +7 (79). He did have the Pack's lone eagle of the day.
As a team, the Pack shot a combined 298 in round one and 299 in round two for a total of 597. The ThunderWolves are +21 collectively. CSU-Pueblo sits seven strokes out of second place entering day two of competition.
