COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 11, 2018)- Nathan McCann of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Golf team earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week accolades Thursday.
McCann (So., Lurgan Armagh, Ireland) won the RMAC Fall Preview with a -3 (141) over two rounds at the Walnut Creek Golf Course. He beat the rest of the field by two strokes to earn his third career first place finish.
The sophomore was the only golfer to play both rounds under par. He shot a tournament-best -2 (70) in round one Monday. McCann battled the weather to finish round two with a -1 (71).
McCann led the field with nine birdies and a -3 scoring mark on par threes. He was second in the field with a -3 mark on par fives.
For McCann, this is his second career RMAC Golfer of the Week award. He last earned RMC Golfer of the Week accolades April 13. This honor is his first of the season and the Pack's first of the 2018-19 campaign.
McCann has three top 10 finishes in four tournaments this season. He has not finished outside the top 15 in 2018-19.
Thanks to McCann's efforts the ThunderWolves claimed a team win at the RMAC Fall Preview. The Pack has been the top RMAC team at three of their four tournaments this season. They have now won consecutive RMAC Fall Previews.
McCann and the Pack will be back in action this Monday and Tuesday when they compete at the NCAA West/South Central Region Preview. The Pack's final tournament of the fall will be held at the Ledges Golf Club in St. George, Utah.
