PUEBLO, Colo. (December 8, 2016) – Colorado State University-Pueblo men's lacrosse has finalized its schedule for the 2016-17 season. The ThunderWolves third season as a program will feature eight home games at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
The Pack begin the season with three exhibition contests, two of which will be held at home. The Pack opens the season Saturday Feb. 4, 2017 with an exhibition game against Johnson & Wales University at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium. The Pack beat the Wildcats 24-8 in an exhibition game a year ago. The Pack also plays MSU Denver at home Feb. 25 during their exhibition season.
The Pack's first official game will be their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener when they face Adams State University Saturday March 4 at 5 p.m. in their home opener. CSU-Pueblo's matchup with the Grizzlies kicks off a three-game homestand to start the regular season. The ThunderWolves will also meet University of Great Falls (March 7), and Rockhurst University (March 11) during this season opening homestand.
After their three-game homestand, the ThunderWolves embark on a three-game road trip that includes a visit to RMAC newcomer Maryville University. The Pack will play the Bulldogs for the first time March 24. This road trip ends with the Pack finishing their series with the Hawks March 26.
CSU-Pueblo will return to Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium for three consecutive games to wrap up their home slate. The Pack meets Westminster College March 31. The homestand continues with a battle between the ThunderWolves and Colorado Mesa University April 2. CSU-Pueblo will host its home finale when Maryville makes its inaugural trip to southern Colorado April 13.
Three road games will conclude the regular season for CSU-Pueblo. The Pack will visit the Mavericks (April 21), and the Griffins (April 23). Adams State will host the Pack in the ThunderWolves regular season finale April 29.
The Pack will look to build on its 3-11 record from a season ago. Three of the Pack's top four point getters from a season ago return to the lineup. Click here to see the full men's lacrosse schedule.
